My friend Marta's birthday was a few days ago, so I sent her a little present. It's a glasses-case and a mini-purse. I hope she'll enjoy them!!!

Tutorial Camiseta.

Some of you has asked me for a t-shirt tutorial, well, here it is, I will try to explain the method that I learnt from my dear friend Teresa.

That’s what you’ll need: A t-shirt, a nice drawing (I’ve choosed a bee), some coloured fabrics, and a two-faced interfacing used in patchwork. I’ve used “vliesofix”. You can buy it in patchwork shops like Mar de Hilos. You will need too: scissors, sewing threads, a pencil, a patchwork pen (dissapears at water-contact)...

First we pass the different parts of the bee to the interfacing. This interfacing has two faces. One is smooth, and the other is pretty rough. We must draw on the smooth one.

Now we trim every piece, leaving a little border. We take the pieces that will be "brown coloured" and put it over the wrong face of the brown fabric. With the rough part touching the fabric. We will use the ironing to fix the pieces.

Now we do the same thing with the yellow fabric. We have the bee's body and head.

And with the blue ones...the wings. Iron and fix them.

Now, we can trim all the pieces. Cut every little part of the bee, but this time you don't need to leave any borders.

Here you can see a detail of some pieces upside-down.

Now we'll see how the bee will look. Please note that a mirror-effect has occurred. So you'll need to choose the correct orientation of the drawing before passing it to the interfacing. Thought this is not the most important thing.

Now we put the pieces in the t-shirt. First, we take the pieces that will be under the body: the wings. We can use the body to see the distance between them and mark the right place. Now take off the back paper, (you can see it in the picture), and put it down. Fix with the ironing again.

Ya tenemos las cuatro alas pegadas.
We have the four wings by now.

One by one, we continue fixing the other pieces, noticing that we must fix first the little ones that will be under the rest of them. You can see that I've added the head, body and stripes, in that order.

We have the bee ready to start sewing. We've done with the ironing.

We must surround every area with a matching colour, or a different colour if you please...this is a "customer choosing". I've used similar colours for body, head and stripes, and a DMC "jewel effect" for the wings, I've found it happier.

Now de details. We'll use here the patchwork pen (or a pen that you can make dissapear later), and draw the eyes, mouth...and sew them with different threads.

And here it is!!!! At last!!! After removing the rests of the pen!!!

Besos!!!
Well, I expect you've learnt and enjoyed it. Thanks a lot to my friend Teresa, as I said before, for teaching us this funny and beautiful method. And as I always say, forgive me for the english mistakes!! I'm trying it!!! ha ha ha!!
